SIMMONS CAMP RIVERBEND IS A SLOW-THE-TEMPO PLACE WHERE SIMPLE THINGS CREATE INCREDIBLE MOMENTS

Brian and Jana Simmons were searching for that place – a slow-the-tempo get-away where you ease into the day, surrounded by simple things that create incredible moments. In 2018, they landed on 3 acres of cabin property just east of Mio, Michigan, on the beautiful AuSable River, a 138-mile river abundant with wildlife and blue ribbon trout fishing, surrounded by the pristine pines of the Huron-Manistee National Forest and ready access to trails for hiking or horse-back riding and ATVs.

Today, Simmons Camp Riverbend remains a reset button from chronic routine. From leisurely hikes with the dogs and epic rides up Bull Gap to relaxing afternoons kayaking the AuSable followed by some good ‘ole campfire cooking. Or, spend a morning in Amish country shopping handmade rugs, maple syrup, sandwiches and fresh baked goods and then grab your tubes for a sun-splashed lazy river run. We like to say “we’re surrounded by everything and nothing at all and it’s too darn good not to share.”

So, welcome to our slice of heaven. Our camp features a completely renovated, glamped-up guest cabin situated on the AuSable with a bonus bunkhouse that feels more like a quiet nook. Need extra more room or a truly exclusive experience? Try out Airstream-life in our new 25-foot Globetrotter – all set up at camp – and steal away some you time.
